“The Cannondale bikes were perfect for the route, well taken care of…excellent. I learned a lot, not just about the country but also bike handling skills…guides were exceptionally affable, likable, nice and very thoughtful. Thanks for a memorable tour!”

Margaret B., Brockport, NY, PVEJ

Cycle touring in Eastern Europe has really come on. The roads, lodging and food have made great strides since 1989 when Communism fell apart. The tour takes in three countries - Poland, Slovakia and Hungary - in 7 days. There’s great road riding on offer within these three beautiful countries to appeal to both the avid road cyclist and the leisure cyclist. Rolling south from the great square of old Krakow, you will stay in stunning Zakopane, a gorgeous mountain resort before skirting the majestic, jagged peaks of the High Tatra mountains on ribbon-like roads that border Poland and Slovakia.

Next, 'Slovak Paradise' - the undisputed gem of Slovakia's national parks – offers you serious road riding through long valleys and in the stunning Slovensky Raj range. There’s enough time to tour the unforgettable spectacle of the Dobsina ice cave, and view above-ground attractions like the imperious Roznava castle.

In northern Hungary, the terrain changes again as you cycle amongst odd, cone shaped hills, through historical towns on deep-set country lanes. Magnificent caverns, World Heritage sites and world famous wines complement the route before the impressive sweep of the Danube comes into view and takes you into Budapest.

Designed for serious mile munchers as well as more moderate-level cyclists, each day offers two distance levels - a long (60-70m/100-120km) route together or a shorter alternative (24-36m/40-60km) spin. You will cycle 6 days out of 7 and spend two nights each in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. If you’re looking for a reasonable workout and a chance to get an authentic flavor of the countries at the heart of Central Europe, this tour is for you.
